Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Storage Condition

Description

Kallikrein-2 plays a critical role in prostate physiology and serves as a biomarker in prostate cancer diagnostics, yet functional studies require enzyme preparations that retain native catalytic properties. This full-length recombinant protein (aa 19–261) demonstrates robust proteolytic activity with a specific activity exceeding 350 pmol/min/µg against the fluorogenic substrate Pro-Phe-Arg-7-amido-4-methylcoumarin, providing a quantitative foundation for kinetic parameter analysis including Km, Vmax, and kcat/kcat/Km determination. The C-terminal His tag preserves active site accessibility while enabling straightforward purification, and binding to an anti-KLK2 antibody with an EC50 of 0.67–0.82 ng/mL confirms proper folding and epitope presentation for use as a positive control in immunoassays. Purity greater than 90% by SDS-PAGE and endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/µg satisfy the quality thresholds commonly required for inhibitor screening, IC50 determination, and substrate specificity profiling where contaminant proteases would compromise data interpretation.
