Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

LY6E functions as a critical interferon-stimulated gene product that modulates viral entry and immune cell signaling, making it a valuable tool for dissecting host-pathogen interactions and immune regulation mechanisms. This full-length mature protein (aa 21–101) demonstrates quantifiable binding activity with an EC50 of 2.483–3.282 ng/mL when tested against a recombinant anti-LY6E antibody in functional ELISA, confirming its native-like conformation and supporting its use in antibody screening, epitope mapping studies, and as a positive control in receptor-ligand binding assays. Mammalian cell expression preserves the post-translational modifications characteristic of human glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored proteins, which are essential for authentic protein folding and biological activity. The protein meets quality thresholds commonly required for cell-based functional assays and immunoassay development, with purity exceeding 95% by SDS-PAGE and endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg.

Regulates the T-cell receptor (TCR) signaling by interacting with component CD3Z/CD247 at the plasma membrane, leading to CD3Z/CD247 phosphorylation modulation. Restricts the entry of human coronaviruses, including SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2, by interfering with spike protein-mediated membrane fusion. Plays also an essential role in placenta formation by acting as the main receptor for syncytin-A (SynA). Therefore, participates in the normal fusion of syncytiotrophoblast layer I (SynT-I) and in the proper morphogenesis of both fetal and maternal vasculatures within the placenta.
