Storage Condition

Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shelf Life

The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.

Description

Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factor 7 (ARHGEF7), also known as βPix or Cool1, is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for Rho GTPases [1]. GEFs like ARHGEF7 play a significant role in regulating Rho GTPases by catalyzing the exchange of GDP for GTP, thereby activating these proteins [2]. Rho GTPases are essential for processes such as cell migration, attachment, cell spread, and actin cytoskeleton dynamics [3].

ARHGEF7 has been implicated in promoting metastasis in colorectal adenocarcinoma by regulating cancer cell motility [4]. Additionally, ARHGEF7 has been associated with promoting axon formation in the cerebral cortex, highlighting its importance in neuronal development [1].

The regulation of Rho GTPases by GEFs like ARHGEF7 is tightly controlled by various proteins. Rho GTPases are positively regulated by GEFs and negatively regulated by GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs) [3]. This balance ensures proper cellular processes such as cytoskeleton reorganization, cell adhesion, and vesicle trafficking [5].
