Description

The expression of recombinant human serine/threonine-protein phosphatase 2A 55 kDa regulatory subunit B beta isoform (PPP2R2B) is achieved in E.coli, where a suitable expression vector is utilized to encode the full-length human PPP2R2B protein (1-443aa). This expression construct incorporates an N-terminal 10xHis-tag and a C-terminal Myc-tag to facilitate the purification and detection of the recombinant PPP2R2B protein. The purity of the resulting protein is determined to be up to 85% through SDS-PAGE analysis. On the gel, the purified recombinant human PPP2R2B protein appears as a band with an approximate molecular weight of 57 kDa. This recombinant human PPP2R2B protein enables researchers to investigate its role and impact on various neurobiological phenomena.

Target Background

Function
The B regulatory subunit might modulate substrate selectivity and catalytic activity, and also might direct the localization of the catalytic enzyme to a particular subcellular compartment. Within the PP2A holoenzyme complex, isoform 2 is required to promote proapoptotic activity. Isoform 2 regulates neuronal survival through the mitochondrial fission and fusion balance.
