Form
Liquid or Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer
If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol.
Note: If you have any special requirement for the glycerol content, please remark when you place the order.
If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
3-7 business days
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

 Q&A
Q:

We recently received our recombinant protein and found the product stored in 20mM Tris-HCl, 0.5M NaCl pH8.0, 20% Glycerol. This is our second time ordering this product; first time the recombinant protein was lyophilized. This storage buffer will not work with our application. Is there way to fix this issue?”
I have checked the paperwork and it looks like the customer did not request lyophilized protein from us, they probably assumed that it is always sent as lyophilized protein.
Previously in February we shipped them the following
2 x Recombinant Lassa virus Nucleoprotein; 0.2 mg (Yeast); Lot# 03334; Exp: Aug. 15, 2017
*Aseptic Process, Endotoxin Removal, & Lyophilization
Tag Removal
Are you able to suggest a good method for them to change the buffer?
How much would it cost for them to re-order the protein and receive it in lyophilized format?
I also note that they did not request tag removal the second time they ordered. I will check with them that they do not require this service when I send your response to them. Is there any inventory remaining of the tag free protein?

A:
Thanks for your inquiry,Besides Tag Removal and Lyophilization, you did not request Aseptic Process and Endotoxin Removal in the lastest order as well. Did you forget to remark these requirements?
Do you need Tag Removal, Lyophilization, Aseptic Process and Endotoxin Removal as the previous order?
Does you just want to replace the buffer now or perform Tag Removal, Lyophilization, Aseptic Process and Endotoxin Removal for the protein as the previous order?
If you have same requirements as the previous order, we don't have inventory for this protein now and need to reproduce.
The lead time will still be 27-37 working days. Price will be 20% discount off (Distributor Price: $1233.00* 80%= $986.4).
If you just want to replace the buffer, they could dialyze the protein into their desired buffer using dialysis bag or ultrafiltration tube.
If you have special requirements, please kindly inform us in advance, to avoid potential problems. Meanwhile, if you send re-orders, please kindly remark in your PO.

Target Background

Function
Encapsidates the genome, protecting it from nucleases. The encapsidated genomic RNA is termed the nucleocapsid (NC). Serves as template for viral transcription and replication. The increased presence of protein N in host cell does not seem to trigger the switch from transcription to replication as observed in other negative strain RNA viruses. Through the interaction with host IKBKE, strongly inhibits the phosphorylation and nuclear translocation of host IRF3, a protein involved in interferon activation pathway, leading to the inhibition of interferon-beta and IRF3-dependent promoters activation. Encodes also a functional 3'-5' exoribonuclease that degrades preferentially dsRNA substrates and thereby participates in the suppression of interferon induction.
