Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Storage Condition

Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shelf Life

The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.

Description

L1CAM mediates axonal guidance and neuronal migration during development, and its aberrant expression in multiple cancers correlates with metastatic potential and poor prognosis. This recombinant protein spans residues 20–1120, encompassing the six immunoglobulin-like domains and five fibronectin type III repeats critical for homophilic and heterophilic adhesion interactions. Functional ELISA demonstrates specific antibody binding with an EC50 of 1.496–1.709 ng/mL, confirming that the native epitope architecture is preserved and providing a quantitative benchmark for antibody development, epitope mapping, and competitive binding assays. With purity exceeding 95% by both SDS-PAGE and SEC-HPLC and endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg, this protein meets the quality thresholds commonly required for cell adhesion and spreading assays, tumor cell migration and invasion studies, and functional validation of therapeutic antibodies targeting L1CAM in oncology research.
