Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Destroys radicals which are normally produced within the cells and which are toxic to biological systems.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Data indicate that the role of Zn in Cu,Zn-superoxide dismutase SOD1 is structural and also a vital part of the catalytic machinery. PMID: 25083917
  2. analysis of the unusual disulfide bond in copper-zinc superoxide dismutase PMID: 25433341
  3. Data indicate that in response to elevated endogenous and exogenous reactive oxygen species (ROS), superoxide dismutase 1 (Sod1) rapidly relocates into the nucleus, which is important for maintaining genomic stability. PMID: 24647101
  4. Using overexpressed Sod1, the study shows that there is a significant amount of copper chaperone for Sod1 - independent activation of S. cerevisiae Sod1, even in low-copper medium. PMID: 24061560
  5. Data show that the aging process increased the DNA damage rates 3-fold in the wild type and more than 5-fold in superoxide dismutases sod1Delta, sod2Delta, and molecular chaperone ccs1Delta mutant cells. PMID: 24462872
  6. Localization of the reduced, Ccs1-independent forms of Sod1 relied on Mia40, an essential component of the mitochondrial intermembrane space import and assembly pathway PMID: 23802566
  7. Study reports that SOD1 transmits signals from oxygen and glucose to repress respiration. The mechanism involves SOD1-mediated stabilization of two casein kinase 1-gamma (CK1gamma) homologs, Yck1p and Yck2p, required for respiratory repression. PMID: 23332757
  8. Y34F ScMnSOD has a novel mechanism involving an active six-coordinate Mn3+ species, different from any previously characterized WT or mutant enzyme. PMID: 22908245
  9. GSH-dependent Sod1 activation is crucial for chronological lifespan extension by a mild oxidative stress pre-treatment PMID: 20737429
  10. these observations suggest that the targeting of Sod1 to the mitochondrial IMS provides an increased protection against respiration-derived ROS. PMID: 21055392
  11. Cell wall analysis indicated an increase of cell wall chitin and cell wall thickness in sod1Delta mutant compared to wild type. PMID: 20176017
  12. while Sod1 activity is critical for low zinc growth, diminished Sod1 activity is not a major source of the elevated ROS observed under these conditions PMID: 19756144
  13. neither MnSOD nor CuZnSOD is required for protecting the majority of mitochondrial proteins from oxidative damage during early phases of growth PMID: 15385544
  14. Overexpressing SOD1 in yeast was found to require either growth in the presence of high copper, or the simultaneous overexpression of both SOD1 and CCS1. PMID: 15659212
  15. sod 2 Delta and sod 1 Deltasod 2 Delta demonstrated the highest levels of GSH in the control, suggesting that pathways which include GSH protect these double mutants against oxidative stress PMID: 16132699
  16. a new relationship between SOD1, Copper chaperone for superoxide dismutase Sod1p, and monitors and participates in meiotic recombination-mediated checkpoint response to replication arrest and DNA damage in Saccharomyces cerevisiae PMID: 16287844
  17. Thus, we conclude that in the case of S. cerevisiae both VDAC isoforms influence the IMS CuZnSOD activity and subsequently the expression levels of some mitochondrial proteins. PMID: 17462593
  18. Overproducion of Sod1p in S. cerevisiae cells mutatant (Val19) for RAS2 rescues the ATP/ADP carrier activity and enhances the proliferation rate and the replicative longevity of these cells PMID: 18081742
  19. oxygen correlates with high intracellular levels; in cells lacking SOD1, proper manganese bioavalability is critical for aerobic survival PMID: 18973803
  20. the copper-dependent enzyme Sod1 (Cu,Zn-superoxide dismutase) and its intracellular copper chaperone Ccs1 function in the activation of Mac1 in response to an external copper deficiency. PMID: 18977757
  21. The disulfide relay system is crucial for the mitochondrial import of Ccs1, thereby affecting the transport of Sod1, and it can control the distribution of Ccs1 and Sod1 between the intermembrane space of mitochondria and the cytosol. PMID: 19010334
  22. For the first time the important role of CuZnSOD in controlling channel activity and levels of VDAC was revealed. PMID: 19116152
  23. Sod1 has a role in cell survival during endoplasmic reticulum stress. PMID: 19129474
