CUSABIO first produced the AXIN2 antibody. This process involves the immunization of an animal with a synthesized peptide derived from human AXIN2. Sequencing the resulting AXIN2 antibody and synthesizing the antibody gene. CUSABIO cloned AXIN2 antibody-coding genes into plasma vectors and then transfected these vector clones into mammalian cells using a lipid-based transfection reagent. Following transient expression, the recombinant antibodies against AXIN2 were harvested and characterized. The AXIN2 recombinant monoclonal antibody was purified by affinity chromatography from the culture medium. It can be used to detect human AXIN2 protein in ELISA.
AXIN2 functions as a negative feedback regulator to limit and fine-tune Wnt signaling. It is involved in the regulation of cell proliferation, cytometaplasia, migration, and apoptosis. It plays a role in tumorigenesis and is regulated in cancer cells. AXIN2 has been associated with the development of liver cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer, and breast cancer. Loss of function mutation of AXIN2 is found in hepatocellular and colorectal carcinoma.
