Description

Transglutaminase 2 (TGM2) is a multifunctional enzyme that catalyzes calcium-dependent protein cross-linking through the formation of isopeptide bonds between glutamine and lysine residues. Beyond its enzymatic role, TGM2 participates in diverse cellular processes including cell adhesion, apoptosis, and extracellular matrix stabilization. Its dysregulation has been implicated in cancer progression, fibrotic diseases, and inflammatory conditions, making it a compelling target for researchers investigating tumor biology, metabolic pathways, and immune responses.

This recombinant monoclonal antibody, clone 7E1, offers the reproducibility and consistency that demanding experimental workflows require. Produced using recombinant technology in rabbit host, the antibody is sequence-defined, eliminating the lot-to-lot variability that can compromise longitudinal studies or multi-site collaborations. Calcium-dependent acyltransferase that catalyzes the formation of covalent bonds between peptide-bound glutamine and various primary amines, such as gamma-amino group of peptide-bound lysine, or mono- and polyamines, thereby producing cross-linked or aminated proteins, respectively. Involved in many biological processes, such as bone development, angiogenesis, wound healing, cellular differentiation, chromatin modification and apoptosis.
