The rabbit is injected with the recombinant Enterobacteria phage T4 (Bacteriophage T4) UVSX protein to stimulate its immune system. Eventually, the rabbit's immune system produces antibodies against the UVSX protein. Once enough antibodies have been generated, a sample of serum is collected to obtain the polyclonal antibodies. The collected serum, which contains the UVSX antibody, is then subjected to protein A/G affinity chromatography. The effectiveness of the UVSX antibody is assessed in ELISA and WB applications. This specific UVSX antibody is capable of specifically reacting with the Enterobacteria phage T4 (Bacteriophage T4) UVSX protein.
The Enterobacteria phage T4 (Bacteriophage T4) UVSX protein mainly participates in the recombination and repair processes of the phage's DNA. UVSX is a recombinase enzyme that plays a crucial role in homologous recombination, allowing for the exchange of genetic material between two DNA molecules with similar sequences. This protein helps in repairing damaged DNA and facilitating the integration of the phage DNA into the host bacterium's genome. Additionally, UVSX is involved in the resolution of branched DNA structures during recombination, ensuring the successful completion of the recombination process.
