This human GAS6 ELISA kit employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique to measure the levels of human GAS6 in multiple samples, including serum, plasma, or tissue homogenates. It also uses the enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction to visualize and analyze the analyte levels through the color intensity. The intensity of the colored product is in direct proportion to the GAS6 levels in the sample and is measured at 450 nm through a microplate reader.
GAS6 is involved in proliferation, apoptosis, efferocytosis, leukocyte migration & sequestration, and platelet aggregation & hematopoiesis. It also takes part in the activation of different cell types, from platelets to endothelial and vascular smooth muscle cells. It is related to conditions of injury, inflammation, and repair. GAS6 plays a role in several pathophysiological processes such as atherosclerosis, cancer, and thrombosis. GAS6 has the highest affinity for Axl. The GAS6/Axl signaling pathway has been implicated in promoting tumor cell proliferation, survival, migration, invasion, angiogenesis, and immune evasion.
