Interleukin-16, a CD4⁺ T cell chemoattractant cytokine, plays a central role in immune cell recruitment and inflammatory signaling, making validated recombinant forms essential for mechanistic immunology research. This tag-free mouse IL-16 encompasses the full mature protein sequence (residues 1205–1322 of pro-IL-16), and its biological activity has been confirmed via a chemotaxis bioassay using human peripheral T lymphocytes at concentrations of 1.0–100 ng/ml, providing a suitable basis for T cell migration assays, CD4-dependent signaling pathway studies involving MAPK and NF-κB activation, and in vivo mouse models of inflammation. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg minimize LPS-driven artifacts that can confound immune cell functional readouts, which is critical for chemotaxis, proliferation, and activation assays using primary lymphocytes or PBMCs. Purity exceeding 98% by SDS-PAGE, combined with this stringent endotoxin control, also supports use as a reference standard in cytokine detection assays and as a positive control for antibody validation by ELISA or Western blot.
