The SMURF1 monoclonal antibody is developed by immunizing mice with recombinant human SMURF1 protein (198-374aa) and fusing immunized mouse B cells with myeloma cells to produce hybridoma cells. Following screening and selection, the SMURF1 antibody-secreting hybridomas were cultured in the mouse abdominal cavity. The SMURF1 monoclonal antibody is purified from the mouse ascites using protein G affinity chromatography, ensuring a purity of over 95%. This unconjugated IgG2a antibody is highly specific for human SMURF1 protein and is recommended for use in ELISA, WB, IHC, IF, and FC applications.
SMURF1 is a protein-coding gene that encodes for an E3 ubiquitin ligase enzyme involved in protein degradation. Its main function is to regulate the TGF-β signaling pathway by mediating the ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of certain proteins, including receptor-regulated SMADs (R-SMADs) and TGF-β receptors. SMURF1 plays a crucial role in many biological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, and dysregulation of this protein has been associated with various human diseases, such as cancer and skeletal dysplasia.
