Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Description

PDGF-BB homodimers drive mesenchymal cell proliferation, migration, and survival through high-affinity binding to PDGFR-β, making them central regulators in wound healing, fibrosis, and tumor stroma remodeling. This tag-free preparation, spanning the complete mature sequence (aa 82–190), demonstrates potent mitogenic activity with an ED50 ≤5 ng/mL in NIH3T3 fibroblast proliferation assays, a benchmark that supports its use in cell survival studies, receptor-ligand competition experiments, and angiogenesis models where stromal signaling is critical. Yeast expression yields correctly folded, disulfide-linked dimers without mammalian glycosylation, preserving the core receptor-binding interface while minimizing batch-to-batch glycan heterogeneity. Endotoxin levels ≤10 EU/mg and purity exceeding 95% align with standards expected in stem cell differentiation protocols, SPR kinetics measurements, and antibody characterization assays where low background interference is essential.

Signaling is modulated by the formation of heterodimers with PDGFA.
