Function	Functions as component of the Arp2/3 complex which is involved in regulation of actin polymerization and together with an activating nucleation-promoting factor (NPF) mediates the formation of branched actin networks.
Gene References into Functions	Quantitative PCR demonstrated that ARPC5 was significantly increased in MM patients. GSEA results indicated that ARPC5 might affect cellular growth of myeloma cells through mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR)C1 signaling pathway. PMID: 30201948 Levels of ARPC5 expression were significantly higher in invasive cancer cells and gene expression was directly regulated by miR-133a. PMID: 22378351 identified as a substrate of MAPK-activated protein kinase 2(MAPKAPK2); the ability of MAPKAPK2 to phosphorylate one isoform of p16-Arc suggests a possible mechanism by which the p38 MAPK cascade regulates remodeling of the actin cytoskeleton PMID: 12829704
