Target Background

Function
TFIIF is a general transcription initiation factor that binds to RNA polymerase II and helps to recruit it to the initiation complex in collaboration with TFIIB. It promotes transcription elongation. This subunit shows ATP-dependent DNA-helicase activity.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Results pinpoint critical residues for RNA polymerase II subunit 5 binding to RAP30 and/or to HBx, and identify these residues in both mammalian cells and in an in vitro binding assay. PMID: 16169872
Subcellular Location
Nucleus.
Protein Families
TFIIF beta subunit family
