Function

Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha chain.

These results suggest that tubulin alpha-6 chain is one of the candidates for biomarkers for well-differentiated hepatitis C virus-associated human hepatocellular carcinoma. PMID: 21965743
