Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Storage Condition

Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shelf Life

The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.

Description

The recombinant Human SSB was expressed with the amino acid range of 1-408. The calculated molecular weight for this SSB protein is 50.8 kDa. This SSB recombinant protein is manufactured in baculovirus. The N-terminal 10xHis tag and C-terminal Myc tag was fused into the coding gene segment of SSB, making it easier to detect and purify the SSB recombinant protein in the later stages of expression and purification.

SSB (Lupus La protein) is involved in a wide range of research areas. It plays a crucial role in the stability and transport of RNA, especially garnering attention in the biology of small RNAs. Researchers focus on the abnormal expression of SSB in autoimmune diseases such as lupus erythematosus and its mechanisms in RNA binding and cell biology. These studies deepen researchers' understanding of SSB functions and provide new perspectives for the treatment of autoimmune diseases.

Function

Binds to the 3' poly(U) terminus of nascent RNA polymerase III transcripts, protecting them from exonuclease digestion and facilitating their folding and maturation. In case of Coxsackievirus B3 infection, binds to the viral internal ribosome entry site (IRES) and stimulates the IRES-mediated translation.
