Description

This Mouse CCL5 (RANTES) ELISA Kit provides quantitative measurement of CCL5 in Mus musculus samples, supporting immunology research focused on chemokine-driven leukocyte recruitment and inflammatory signaling. Because CCL5 concentrations can vary dramatically between resting and inflamed states — often spanning two orders of magnitude — this kit is designed to capture that dynamic range while remaining sensitive to baseline levels.

Detection Range: The 7.8–500 pg/mL range covers both constitutive CCL5 levels in healthy mouse serum (typically 20–100 pg/mL) and the elevated concentrations seen during acute inflammation or viral infection. Most stimulated samples will fall within range without dilution, though LPS-challenged tissue homogenates may require 2–4× dilution.

Sensitivity: At 3.9 pg/mL, the kit detects CCL5 in low-expression contexts such as naïve T cell supernatants, early post-infection serum, or unstimulated tissue, where concentrations often fall below 10 pg/mL.

Sample Compatibility: Validation across serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates (50–100 µL) enables paired systemic-versus-local CCL5 profiling — for example, comparing circulating plasma levels with lung or liver homogenate concentrations within the same animal.

Assay Efficiency: The 1–5 hour protocol and low 50–100 µL sample volume accommodate studies using serial bleeds from individual mice or limited primary cell-conditioned media, preserving sample for parallel cytokine measurements.

This kit is particularly suited for studies of allergic airway inflammation, atherosclerotic plaque progression, and T cell-mediated antiviral immunity.

Chemoattractant for blood monocytes, memory T-helper cells and eosinophils. Causes the release of histamine from basophils and activates eosinophils. May activate several chemokine receptors including CCR1, CCR3, CCR4 and CCR5. May also be an agonist of the G protein-coupled receptor GPR75. Together with GPR75, may play a role in neuron survival through activation of a downstream signaling pathway involving the PI3, Akt and MAP kinases. By activating GPR75 may also play a role in insulin secretion by islet cells.
