Precision

Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%

Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.

Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%

Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.

Linearity

To assess the linearity of the assay, samples were spiked with high concentrations of rat IL-1α in various matrices and diluted with the Sample Diluent to produce samples with values within the dynamic range of the assay.

Target Background

Function
(From Uniprot)
Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells.
Gene References into Functions
  1. We propose that induction of collagenase-1 by IL-1alpha in both WF and NF depends on a unique combination of cell type-specific signaling pathways. PMID: 17455222
Subcellular Location
Cytoplasm. Secreted.
Protein Families
IL-1 family
