Precision
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%
Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%
Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
Linearity
To assess the linearity of the assay, samples were spiked with high concentrations of rat IL-15 in various matrices and diluted with the Sample Diluent to produce samples with values within the dynamic range of the assay.

Target Data

Function Cytokine that stimulates the proliferation of T-lymphocytes. Stimulation by IL-15 requires interaction of IL-15 with components of IL-2R, including IL-2R beta and probably IL-2R gamma but not IL-2R alpha (By similarity).
Gene References into Functions
  1. study indicates that training, skeletal muscle phenotype, and metabolic status all influence the temporal pattern of post-exercise changes in IL-15 expression. PMID: 25522723
  2. found that in diabetic rats, resistance training increased muscle and serum IL-15 levels PMID: 24006180
  3. results suggested that IL-15-Akt signaling harbored the complex signals for muscle-T cell interaction, the regulatory networks have significant potential for the restriction on IL-1beta inflammatory signaling PMID: 23017227
  4. IL-15 is related to organ dysfunction during severe acute pancreatitis, and it functions as a protective factor against the organ injuries. PMID: 20332642
  5. The results of this study suggest that the IL-15 signal transduction pathway in neural cells is similar to that in immune cells. PMID: 19747902
  6. IL-15 might antagonize some cytokine mediated cell death in islet cells. PMID: 12880684
  7. IL-15 produced by metastatic colon carcinoma cells can induce hyperplasia in the mucosa adjacent to colon cancer, thus contributing to angiogenesis and progression of the disease PMID: 14581351
  8. Cocultivation of lymphocytes with pancreatic stellate cells and IL-15 inhibited spontaneous lymphocyte apoptosis, and this effect was reduced by an anti-IL-15 antibody PMID: 16002563
  9. the decrease of CORT secretion by IL-15 is in part because of (i) the decrease of adenylate cyclase activity and cAMP production and (ii) the inhibition of 3beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase and 11beta-hydroxylase activities in rat ZFR cells. PMID: 16405651
  10. Increases in IL-15 mRNA in response to atrophic stimuli may be an attempt to counteract muscle mass loss in skeletal muscles of old animals. PMID: 17135303
  11. IL-15 might have an inhibitory effect on the physiologic vascular remodeling processes in closing the ductus arteriosus. PMID: 17667861
  12. The changes observed in BAT suggest that IL-15 could be implicated in lipid consumption in this tissue by regulating lipid oxidation and probably thermogenesis, processes mediated by UCP1 and UCP3 and PPARdelta and PPARalpha. PMID: 18239634
  13. Preservation of IL-15 signaling by calorie restriction may therefore represent a further mechanism contributing to the anti-aging effect of this dietary intervention in skeletal muscle PMID: 19396981
