Precision
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%
Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%
Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
Linearity
To assess the linearity of the assay, samples were spiked with high concentrations of sheep IL-8 in various matrices and diluted with the Sample Diluent to produce samples with values within the dynamic range of the assay.

Target Background

Function
(From Uniprot)
IL-8 is a chemotactic factor that attracts neutrophils, basophils, and T-cells, but not monocytes. It is also involved in neutrophil activation. It is released from several cell types in response to an inflammatory stimulus.
Gene References into Functions
  1. In response to C. abortus infection, both ovine and bovine turbinate cells produce CXCL8 mRNA and protein late in the bacterial developmental cycle. PMID: 26342452
  2. IL-8 signaling does not mediate lipopolysaccharide-induced lung inflammation and lung maturation. PMID: 19574422
Subcellular Location Secreted.
Protein Families Intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family
