Buffer

Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Storage Condition

Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shelf Life

Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.

Description

The recombinant bovine cation-independent mannose-6-phosphate receptor (IGF2R) is produced through the following steps: inserting the DNA fragment encoding the 628-772 amino acid region of bovine IGF2R into a suitable expression vector, transfecting mammalian cells with the recombinant expression vector, selecting the transfected cells and expanding them, culturing the transfected cells in appropriate conditions, harvesting and purifying the recombinant IGF2R protein from the cell lysate. The purity of the recombinant bovine IGF2R protein exceeds 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis. It migrates as a band with a molecular weight of 26 kDa on the gel. This recombinant bovine IGF2R protein can be used in studies related to IGF2R-associated immunology.

Function

Mediates the transport of phosphorylated lysosomal enzymes from the Golgi complex and the cell surface to lysosomes. Lysosomal enzymes bearing phosphomannosyl residues bind specifically to mannose-6-phosphate receptors in the Golgi apparatus and the resulting receptor-ligand complex is transported to an acidic prelysosomal compartment where the low pH mediates the dissociation of the complex. The receptor is then recycled back to the Golgi for another round of trafficking through its binding to the retromer. This receptor also binds IGF2. Acts as a positive regulator of T-cell coactivation by binding DPP4.
