A construct encoding COOH-terminally hFc-tagged Human macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) was expressed in mammalian cells. The resulting protein is the recombinant full-length of mature MIF protein containing amino acid sequence 2-115 of human MIF. The purity of this MIF protein is greater than 85% determined by SDS-PAGE. A molecular mass band of 45 kDa was presented on the gel under reducing conditions. It contains low levels of endotoxin, less than 1.0 EU/ug determined by the LAL method. And this MIF protein has also been tested as an active protein through a functional ELISA. It binds to the anti-MIF monoclonal antibody with an EC50 of 49.61-69.45 ng/ml. It is available now.
MIF is a pleiotropic cytokine involved in inflammatory and immune responses. It is constitutively expressed in most human tissues and cells. The high expression of MIF during embryonic development and decreased expression during adulthood suggest that MIF also promotes cell proliferation. Additionally, MIF has also been associated with several immunological and inflammatory diseases, including septic shock, diabetes, and cancer. It has recently been regarded as a biomarker for autoimmune diseases, such as arthritis, ulcerative colitis, and diabetes.
Applications : Enzymatic activity in vitro, ELISA standard and its raw materials
Review: I used CSB-MP013826HU product and anti-MIF antibody for an ELISA experiment, the EC50 was 27.02-39.75ng/ml, and the protein had good binding activity. The affinity test shows that the affinity is excellent and relatively stable. We have purchased several batches, with no significant difference between batches and good repeatability! In ELISA experiments, both as a coating material and as a standard, have good repeatability.
