Form
Liquid or Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer
If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol. If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
May be involved in mediating uptake of synaptic material during synapse remodeling or in mediating the synaptic clustering of AMPA glutamate receptors at a subset of excitatory synapses.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Neuronal pentraxin 1 accumulates on the postsynaptic terminal forming functional synapses. PMID: 29024665
  2. work highlights a potential role for synaptic proteins, such as NP1 and glutamate receptors in lysosomal storage diseases. PMID: 28007910
  3. Results demonstrate a novel mechanism of neuronal death and predict that inhibition of NP1 expression is a promising strategy to prevent hypoxic-ischemic injury in immature brain PMID: 25554688
  4. results demonstrate that extracellular release of NP1 promote hypoxic-ischemic neuronal death possibly via surface clustering with GluR1 at synaptic sites and that NP1, not its family member NP2, is involved in the neuronal death mechanisms PMID: 25526743
  5. Genetic deletion of NP1 prevents hypoxic-ischemic neuronal death by reducing synaptic clustering of GluR1. PMID: 23525449
  6. These findings suggest that Narp in the mPFC mediates the extinction of morphine conditioned place preference. PMID: 23322555
  7. our findings demonstrate a novel mechanism by which NP1 regulates mitochondria-driven hippocampal cell death PMID: 23069675
  8. NP1 facilitates the accumulation of BCL2-associated X protein (BAX) in mitochondria and regulates mitochondrial dynamics during apoptosis in mouse cerebellar granule neurons in culture. PMID: 22279230
  9. Neuronal pentraxin 1 induction in hypoxic-ischemic neuronal death is regulated via a glycogen synthase kinase-3alpha/beta dependent mechanism PMID: 21130869
  10. data indicate that the loss of NP1/2 disrupts several aspects of retinogeniculate development including the initial establishment of AMPAR transmission and the subsequent elimination of inappropriate circuit connections PMID: 20392962
  11. The Id3 and NP1 genes become transcriptionally active after MyoD induction in undifferentiated myoblasts. This is a stable, heritable event that does not need continued MyoD activity & is not subject to negative regulation by activated H-Ras G12V. PMID: 12167713
  12. Neuronal pentraxin 1 and 2 are necessary for early synaptic refinements in mammalian retina and dorsal lateral geniculate nucleus. May exert their effects through mechanisms paralleling known role of short pentraxins outside the CNS. (Pentraxin 1 and 2) PMID: 16763034
  13. Neuronal activity regulated pentraxin has a selective role in processing sensory-specific information necessary for appropriate devaluation performance, but not in general motivational effects of reward-predictive cues on performance. PMID: 18057201
  14. NP1 enhances synaptogenesis and glutamate signaling by clustering AMPA receptors. PMID: 18840757
