To produce the major mite allergen Der p 23 antibody, a rabbit is immunized with recombinant Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus major mite allergen Der p 23 (22-90aa), inducing the rabbit's B lymphocytes to produce tailored IgG antibodies. The polyclonal major mite allergen Der p 23 antibody is then meticulously purified from the rabbit's serum through protein G techniques. It is highly recommended for the detection of Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus major mite allergen Der p 23 in both ELISA and WB assays.
Der p 23 was identified as a new major Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus allergen in 2013. Der p 23 is located in the peritrophic matrix on the surface of mite fecal pellets. Der p 23 is a peritrophin-like protein that contains a chitin-binding domain in the sequence but does not bind chitin. It binds IgE from 70 % to 86 % of HDM allergic patients.
