B cells are isolated from the splenocytes of mice immunized with the synthesized peptide derived from human CD54 protein. After that, mouse B cells are fused with myeloma cells to generate hybridomas. Hybridoma cells that produce the ICAM1 antibody are selected and cultured in the mouse abdominal cavity. The ICAM1 monoclonal antibody gets affinity purification from mouse ascites by affinity-chromatography using a specific immunogen. It can recognize human ICAM1 protein in ELISA and IHC applications.
ICAM1 is involved in cell adhesion and plays a critical role in immune responses. ICAM1 binds to leukocyte integrin LFA-1 and the macrophage integrin Mac-1, enabling leukocytes to attach to and transmigrate across the endothelium to sites of inflammation. ICAM1 is also involved in leukocyte trafficking, antigen presentation, and T-cell activation. Additionally, ICAM1 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of a variety of diseases, including inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, atherosclerosis, and cancer.
