Fibronectin 1 (FN1) is a high-molecular-weight glycoprotein that plays a central role in cell adhesion, migration, and extracellular matrix organization. As a key mediator of cell-matrix interactions, FN1 influences critical processes including wound healing, embryonic development, and tissue remodeling. Its dysregulation has been implicated in tumor progression and metastasis, where altered fibronectin expression contributes to the invasive potential of cancer cells, as well as in cardiovascular pathologies and stem cell niche maintenance.
This recombinant monoclonal antibody, clone 1E1, was developed against a synthetic peptide derived from human Fibronectin, offering researchers a sequence-defined reagent with the lot-to-lot consistency essential for longitudinal studies and reproducible experimental outcomes. The recombinant production platform ensures that each lot maintains identical binding characteristics, eliminating the variability often encountered with traditional hybridoma-derived antibodies.
Validation in immunohistochemistry demonstrates reliable detection of FN1 in human breast cancer tissue sections. Using a Leica Bond system with citrate buffer antigen retrieval and HRP-polymer detection, the antibody produced clear staining at 1:100 dilution, with recommended working dilutions ranging from 1:50 to 1:200 depending on tissue type and detection system sensitivity. The antibody is also validated for ELISA applications, providing flexibility across different experimental workflows.
Supplied in a glycerol-containing buffer optimized for long-term stability at -20°C or -80°C, this affinity-purified rabbit IgG antibody serves researchers investigating cancer biology, cardiovascular disease mechanisms, developmental processes, and signal transduction pathways where fibronectin-mediated interactions are relevant.
