The Human Matrix metalloproteinase 2/Gelatinase A (MMP-2) ELISA Kit is suitable for the quantitative detection of MMP-2 levels in human serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, and tissue homogenates. The detection mechanism of this kit is based on the sandwich ELISA, in which the formed pre-coated MMP-2 antibody/MMP-2/Biotin-conjugated MMP-2 antibody complex is labeled by HRP-avidin and then develops a color reaction after the addition of the TMB substrate solution. The color intensity can be measured at 450 nm via a microplate reader. Many excellent performances of this kit, including sensitivity, specificity, precision, recovery, and linearity, have been rigorously validated. MMP-2 is a kind of gelatinase A capable to degrading collagen, elastin, fibronectin, lamin, and gelatin. It also exerts pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory effects on numerous tissues. MMP-2 is constitutively expressed in several tissues and regulated by TNF-α under the influence of NF-κB. And MMP-2 plays a protective role in hypertensive heart disease by inhibiting the transcription and activity of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase in the early stages of the hypertensive response.

  • Two vials lyophilized standard ---Dilute a bottle of the standard at dilution series, read the OD values, and then draw a standard curve.
  • One vial Biotin-labeled MMP-2 antibody (100 x concentrate) (120 μl/bottle) ---Act as the detection antibody.
  • One vial HRP-avidin (100 x concentrate) (120 μl/bottle) ---Bind to the detection antibody and react with the TMB substrate to make the solution chromogenic.

Also cleaves KISS at a Gly-|-Leu bond. Appears to have a role in myocardial cell death pathways. Contributes to myocardial oxidative stress by regulating the activity of GSK3beta. Cleaves GSK3beta in vitro.
