ABCD1 is an ATP-binding cassette transporter located on the peroxisomal membrane with specific structure and function. It utilizes the energy of ATP hydrolysis to transport ultra-long-chain fatty acids to peroxisomes for β-oxidation, maintaining intracellular lipid balance. The structural characteristics of ABCD1 include two nucleotide binding domains and two transmembrane domains, which undergo conformational changes during substrate binding to achieve substrate transport. However, when ABCD1 is dysfunctional, it can lead to abnormal accumulation of ultra-long-chain fatty acids in the cytosol, which can cause neurodegenerative diseases such as X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy.
The following Abcd1 reagents supplied by CUSABIO are manufactured under a strict quality control system. Multiple applications have been validated and solid technical support is offered.
