FLT4

FLT4, known as vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 4 or VEGFR-3, is a receptor tyrosine kinase encoded by the FLT4 gene and predominantly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells. FLT4 engages with its ligands VEGF-C and VEGF-D, initiating downstream PI3K/AKT and RAS/RAF/MEK/ERK signaling pathways that promote the proliferation and migration of lymphatic endothelial cells. This receptor plays a crucial role in the formation, development, and maintenance of lymphatic vessel function. Abnormal FLT4 expression is associated with diseases such as cancer, lymphedema, and acute myeloid leukemia, marking it as a potential target for drug development and treatment.
