Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Storage Condition

Description

IL-1β drives pyrogenic and pro-inflammatory responses through IL-1R1 engagement, making precise receptor-binding kinetics essential for modeling innate immune activation and therapeutic target validation. This mammalian-expressed protein, spanning the full mature sequence (aa 117–269), demonstrates specific IL-1R2 binding with an EC50 of 89.65–100.5 ng/mL in functional ELISA, providing quantitative evidence that supports its use in cell-based assays measuring NF-κB or MAPK pathway activation in primary monocytes, macrophages, or endothelial cells. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg meet the contamination thresholds commonly required for experiments where LPS artifacts would confound interpretation of IL-1β-specific effects, including PBMC proliferation studies and in vivo inflammation models. Purity exceeding 90% by SDS-PAGE, combined with the validated receptor interaction, makes this protein appropriate for antibody development workflows and as a positive control in cytokine detection platforms.

Initially discovered as the major endogenous pyrogen, induces prostaglandin synthesis, neutrophil influx and activation, T-cell activation and cytokine production, B-cell activation and antibody production, and fibroblast proliferation and collagen production. Promotes Th17 differentiation of T-cells. Synergizes with IL12/interleukin-12 to induce IFNG synthesis from T-helper 1 (Th1) cells. Plays a role in angiogenesis by inducing VEGF production synergistically with TNF and IL6.
