CCL17

CCL17, known as C-C motif chemokine ligand 17, operates as a small molecule peptide within the CC-type chemokines. It exerts its biological influence primarily by binding to its membrane receptor CCR4. Highly expressed on the cell membrane surface of various T lymphocyte subsets, especially helper T cells, CCL17 plays a role in the regulation of inflammation, hypersensitivity, autoimmune diseases, and the tumor microenvironment. It may promote tumor growth and metastasis through regulatory T cells (Treg), but it could also exhibit anti-tumor immune effects under certain conditions. Additionally, the role of CCL17 in cardiovascular aging has gained attention, with its inhibition potentially offering a strategy for the treatment of cardiovascular aging.
