GPR84

GPR84 is a G protein-coupled receptor, or medium-chain fatty acid receptor. It is expressed in a variety of cell types, including immune cells such as neutrophils.The mechanism of action of GPR84 involves the activation of downstream signalling pathways through binding to ligands such as fatty acids, affecting cell migration, degranulation and oxidative stress. In terms of signalling, GPR84 is able to signal through the Lyn-AKT/ERK pathway, which in turn regulates the activity of p47PHOX, a key protein in oxidative stress, and is involved in the generation of reactive oxygen clusters (ROS). Biologically, GPR84 is involved in the regulation of inflammatory response and immune response, especially playing an important role in diseases such as acute lung injury (ALI), and changes in its expression are closely related to the level of inflammatory factors in the lung and the degree of lung tissue injury. Therefore, GPR84 is considered a potential drug target for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as acute lung injury.
