HIPK2, also known as homology domain interaction protein kinase 2, has alternative names including PRO0593 and hHIPk2. HIPK2 is a serine/threonine kinase and a member of the homology domain interaction protein kinase family. HIPK2 interacts with homology domain transcription factors and many other transcription factors (such as p53), serving both as a co-repressor and a co-activator depending on the transcription factor and its subcellular localization. HIPK2 can induce or inhibit transcription, regulating cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. HIPK2 functions through post-translational modifications such as ubiquitination, sumoylation (SUMO), acetylation, and phosphorylation. HIPK2 promotes apoptosis and acts as a potential tumor suppressor and DNA damage-associated kinase, activating the apoptotic process by phosphorylating different downstream targets. HIPK2 is also involved in tissue and organ formation, as well as tumor development.
HIPK2 Antibody (CSB-PA867138LA01HU)
Validated Data
IHC image of CSB-PA867138LA01HU diluted at 1:500 and staining in paraffin-embedded human glioma performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
