NACC1, also known as nucleus accumbens-associated protein 1, has alternative names including NAC1, BEND8, NAC-1, NECFM, BTBD30, and BTBD14B. NACC1 belongs to the BTB/POZ protein family and primarily functions in the nucleus. NACC1 forms homodimeric or heterodimeric complexes with other transcriptional regulatory factors through the BTB/POZ or BANP, E5R, and NACC1 (BEN) domains, thereby regulating downstream signaling. NACC1 mainly acts as a transcription co-regulator, participating in the regulation of various biological processes such as embryonic development, stem cell pluripotency, and innate immunity. Overexpression of NACC1 has been observed in multiple tumors and is associated with tumor progression and high recurrence rates, indicating poor prognosis. Additionally, NACC1 influences the nervous system, cell pluripotency, immune system, and related diseases.
