BCOR

The BCOR gene encodes BCL6 corepressor, a transcriptional corepressor that interacts with BCL6 and other transcription factors to regulate gene expression. It plays key roles in embryonic development, hematopoiesis, and stem cell maintenance by mediating chromatin remodeling and repressing target gene transcription.
BCOR is involved in pathways like NOTCH and TGF-β signaling. Mutations or dysregulation are linked to myelodysplastic syndromes, acute myeloid leukemia, and rare developmental disorders such as oculofaciocardiodental syndrome. Limited targeted therapies exist, with current research focusing on epigenetic modulators and protein-protein interaction inhibitors.
