CDKL1, or Cyclin Dependent Kinase Like 1. CDKL1 is a gene encoding a protein that belongs to the CDC-2-related Ser/Thr family of protein kinases and is highly homologous to the family of CDKs.CDKL1 is located on human chromosome 14 in the q21.3 region. Its encoded proteins are involved in a variety of biological processes, including cell cycle regulation, signal transduction, sex differentiation, and neurodevelopment. The mechanism of action of CDKL1 involves its kinase activity, which regulates cell cycle progression and signalling by phosphorylating substrate proteins. Biologically, CDKL1 plays an important role in the maintenance of normal cellular physiological functions, and its aberrant expression or dysfunction has been associated with a variety of diseases, including some types of cancer. Therefore, CDKL1 is an important target in cell biology and disease research.
