IDS protein is a lysosomal enzyme that possesses typical structural features of lysosomal enzymes, including catalytic active centers and glycosylation sites. Its primary function is to catalyze the hydrolysis of iduronate-2-sulfate in mucopolysaccharides, thereby maintaining normal levels of intracellular mucopolysaccharides. After synthesis, IDS protein is transported to the lysosome, where it synergistically works with other hydrolases to form an enzymatic network for degrading mucopolysaccharides. Its activity is regulated by various factors, such as pH value, ion concentration, and phosphorylation.
The following IDS reagents supplied by CUSABIO are manufactured under a strict quality control system. Multiple applications have been validated and solid technical support is offered.
