METTL3, methyltransferase-like 3, alias N6-adenylate methyltransferase 70 kDa subunit, MT-A70, and so on. It is an enzyme that performs N6-adenylate methylation modification on eukaryotic mRNAs and is involved in the regulation of gene expression.METTL3 usually forms a heterodimeric complex with METTL14, which together form the core of m6A methyltransferase activity.This modification occurs mainly on specific sequences of mRNAs and affects mRNA stability, splicing, transport, and translation efficiency.
