MICU1

MICU1, also known as mitochondrial calcium uptake 1, is a key protein in mitochondrial calcium regulation. It is also commonly referred to as CBARA1. MICU1 forms a complex with other proteins in the mitochondrial inner membrane and controls the influx of calcium ions into mitochondria. This regulation is crucial for maintaining normal mitochondrial function and energy metabolism.
Disturbances in MICU1 - related mechanisms are associated with several diseases, such as neurodegenerative disorders and some forms of muscular diseases. In terms of drug development, research is underway to target MICU1 - regulated calcium pathways. Compounds are being explored to modulate MICU1 activity, aiming to correct mitochondrial calcium dysregulation and treat related diseases.

IHC image of CSB-PA860652LA01HU diluted at 1:400 and staining in paraffin-embedded human adrenal gland tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
