NR0B2

NR0B2, also known as Orphan nuclear receptor SHP; Small heterodimer partner, is an orphan nuclear receptor whose exact ligand remains unknown. It is encoded by a gene in human cells. NR0B2 shows the highest expression levels in liver tissue and altered expression levels in various tumors, potentially implicating it in processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, and tumorigenesis. The mechanism of action for NR0B2 likely involves interactions with multiple cellular signaling pathways, including MAPK and PI3K pathways, which play a significant role in the regulation of NR0B2 expression.

The biological significance of NR0B2 primarily lies in its potential as a prognostic factor, especially in hepatocellular carcinoma. Studies have shown that the expression level of NR0B2 is significantly associated with the overall survival status of patients with various tumors, and its reduced expression in hepatocellular carcinoma may be related to disease progression. Additionally, the expression level of NR0B2 is inversely correlated with tumor immune infiltration and the expression of specific genes, suggesting that NR0B2 may play a role in the tumor microenvironment. In hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines, the expression of NR0B2 is inversely regulated by MAPK and PI3K signaling pathways, providing new insights into therapeutic strategies targeting NR0B2.
