PBP

PEBP1, also known as Prostatic binding protein or RKIP, is a membrane protein expressed in multiple cell types. It contributes to the construction and maintenance of cell membrane structure by binding to lipid molecules and plays a key role in cell signal transduction. Dysfunction of PEBP1 is associated with diseases such as tumors and depression, making it a potential target for drug development. Recent research indicates that PEBP1 is also a direct cellular target of ethyl gallate, a compound used to treat ulcerative colitis, revealing its role in anti-inflammatory mechanisms and offering new perspectives for the clinical treatment of inflammatory diseases.
