It maintains cellular glucose homeostasis, linking to pathways regulating energy metabolism and carbohydrate utilization.
Dysregulated PGM2L1 expression correlates with type 2 diabetes, where impaired glucose metabolism is central. Preliminary studies hint at its potential role in some cancers, though research remains early-stage.
