PLA2G10

PLA2G10, a member of the phospholipase A2 family, has the function of catalyzing the hydrolysis of the SN-2 acyl chain of phospholipids, releasing free fatty acids and lysophospholipid molecules. It plays a role in cell cycle regulation and immune regulation by increasing the expression level of specific proteins, such as cyclin E1/CDK2 in soft tissue leiomyosarcoma cells, to promote cell cycle progression. In the tumor microenvironment, PLA2G10 is associated with T cell rejection, and its high expression may inhibit T cell infiltration and affect tumor response to immunotherapy. In addition, PLA2G10 also participates in the steroid hormone signaling pathway, serving as a target gene for the progesterone receptor, regulating uterine receptivity in the mouse uterus. The abnormal expression of PLA2G10 is associated with various diseases including cancer and neurodegenerative diseases, and its inhibition or blockade may help enhance the sensitivity of tumors to immunotherapy, especially in "cold tumors" that do not respond well to traditional immune checkpoint blockade therapy. Therefore, PLA2G10 is a potential therapeutic target, and its research is helpful for developing new cancer treatment strategies.
