RNPC3, encoding a protein with two RNA recognition motifs (RRMs) that engage with small-nuclear RNA to facilitate mRNA splicing, is a component of the U12 spliceosome variant, which handles less than 1% of U12 introns in pre-mRNA. Located on chromosome 21, RNPC3 plays a pivotal role in mRNA processing and the regulation of gene expression. Mutations in RNPC3 have been linked to a spectrum of diseases, such as hypopituitarism and neuropathy, with its dysregulation potentially causing congenital hypopituitarism, neuropathy, primary ovarian insufficiency, and other related conditions.
