Sorting nexin-25 (SNX25), also known as SH3PX2B, is a protein encoded by the SNX25 gene. It belongs to the sorting nexin family and is involved in intracellular trafficking processes. SNX25 functions mainly through its interaction with other proteins via its SH3 and PX domains, which help in endosomal sorting and recycling.
SNX25 is associated with several signaling pathways, including the Wnt pathway. Abnormal expression of SNX25 has been linked to various human diseases, such as certain types of cancers. In drug development, research is underway to explore potential therapies that target SNX25 to regulate endosomal function and combat related diseases.
