UBTF

UBTF, full name upstream binding transcription factor, also known as UBF, is a nucleolar phosphoprotein. It specifically binds ribosomal DNA sequences and regulates ribosomal RNA synthesis, maintaining normal ribosome biogenesis and cellular protein production.
Abnormally high UTF expression promotes uncontrolled cell proliferation, and it is closely related to lung cancer, liver cancer and other malignant tumors. It is regarded as a tumor proliferation marker. At present, targeted inhibitors against UBTF are under preclinical research, aiming to suppress tumor growth by inhibiting ribosome biosynthesis.
