Protein VSIG2 (V-set and immunoglobulin domain-containing protein 2), alias C6orf106, is a transmembrane immunoglobulin superfamily member. It mediates cell-cell adhesion via its Ig domains and modulates T-cell activation by fine-tuning TCR signaling. Expressed in immune and epithelial tissues, VSIG2 supports immune homeostasis by regulating T-cell proliferation and cytokine production.
Dysregulated VSIG2 expression associates with colorectal carcinoma—reduced levels correlate with poor prognosis and tumor immune evasion. Preclinical research investigates anti-VSIG2 monoclonal antibodies to boost anti-tumor T-cell responses, though no candidates have entered clinical development stages to date.
