ZIC4 encodes the Zic family member 4 protein, a zinc-finger transcription factor with no widely recognized common aliases beyond its official designation. It plays a critical role in embryonic neurodevelopment, particularly in neural crest cell migration and neural tube closure. ZIC4 modulates the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, regulating downstream gene expression to control cell proliferation and differentiation during early embryonic patterning.
Dysregulation of ZIC4 is associated with neural tube defects like spina bifida and certain congenital heart anomalies. Current drug development remains in preclinical stages, focusing on targeted strategies—such as small interfering RNAs to correct aberrant expression or small molecules modulating its Wnt pathway interactions—to address developmental disorders linked to its dysfunction.
Recombinant Human Zinc finger protein ZIC 4 (ZIC4) (CSB-EP850841HU)
Validated Data
(Tris-Glycine gel) Discontinuous SDS-PAGE (reduced) with 5% enrichment gel and 15% separation gel.
ZIC4 Antibody (CSB-PA850841LA01HU)
Validated Data
IHC image of CSB-PA850841LA01HU diluted at 1:200 and staining in paraffin-embedded human brain tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
Immunofluorescence staining of MCF-7 cells with CSB-PA850841LA01HU at 1:66, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).
The following ZIC4 reagents supplied by CUSABIO are manufactured under a strict quality control system. Multiple applications have been validated and solid technical support is offered.
